With goals from Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva, Chelsea secured their first win in the Premier League since Boxing Day as they beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Action: In a very dull first-half, Spurs thought they had taken the lead close to half-time when Harry Kane had the ball in the net from eight yards out. However, referee Paul Tierney had already blown his whistle for a push on Silva and the goal didn't stand.
Within two minutes of the restart, Ziyech presented us with one of the goals of the season so far, curling the ball into the top corner from 20 yards after a fine run from Callum Hudson-Odoi, giving the lead to the Blues.
In the 55th minute, Thomas Tuchel's men doubled their lead when Thiago Silva rose highest to head home Mason Mount's free-kick from the left flank.
Spurs piled some pressure in the final third, but they were unable to find a way through, until Harry Kane got a strong header on a corner from the right, which Kepa did well to save it.
Big Picture: This was Chelsea's fourth win out of four games, without conceding goals this season against Spurs this season.
The result keeps the Blues a point behind second-placed Liverpool, albeit having played two games more, while Tottenham remain in seventh spot but with games in hand on those above.
Tuchel's men will not play in the league again until 19 February as a result of their participation in the Fifa Club World Cup, following their Champions League success.
Both teams will be back in action on the first weekend of February, with Chelsea hosting Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday February 5 at 12.30pm. Tottenham host Brighton in the same competition on the same day at 8pm.
Memorable moment: Ziyech's goal. The Moroccan missed the African Cup of Nations after falling out with Morocco manager Vahid Halihodzic, but football fans around the world won't be too upset after watching today's goal.
A possible goal of the season contender, the former Ajax player hit a curling and dipping effort starting well wide of the target before swerving into the top corner.
xG: Chelsea (1.06) 2-0 (0.33) Spurs
Stat of the Day: Thiago Silva (37y 123d) is the oldest player to score in the Premier League since February 2013, when 39-year-old Ryan Giggs netted against Queens Park Rangers for Manchester United.
"The gap with the other times, like Chelsea, is a really, really important gap."
