Reports across the media have suggested that Newcastle United now look set to pull out of a loan deal for Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard.
The deal looked set to happen just yesterday with interim manager Ralf Rangnick apparently agreeing to it but now, after further negotiations, The Magpies appear to have been put off by Manchester United’s increased demands.
This news comes shortly after it was revealed by Fabrizio Romano that Sevilla had now decided not to entertain any more offers for their centre-back Diego Carlos after Newcastle had two bids rejected.
Lingard went on loan to West Ham this time last year and had a very successful spell under David Moyes, getting into England’s preliminary squad for UEFA Euro 2020. However, he has once again been viewed as surplus to requirements this season at Old Trafford.
Eddie Howe has already explained how frustrating the January transfer window has been for Newcastle and this looks will only irritate the Newcastle boss even further.
They have already signed Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood this month but were expecting to add at least three-to-five new players in the closing week of the window.
