Huddersfield Town cruised to a 2-0 victory away to Middlesbrough to virtually secure a play-off spot.
Carlos Corberán’s team took the lead just before half-time – typically through a cleverly-worked set-piece. Sorba Thomas swung in a free-kick that Jordan Rhodes headed down for Naby Sarr to score from close range.
The second goal arrived an hour into the match. Lewis O’Brien’s flick-on found Jordan Rhodes in space. The Scottish forward lashed a thunderous effort past Luke Daniels to double the Terriers' lead and score against his former club.
That strike sealed the points with Middlesbrough finding it difficult to make inroads against a well-organised Huddersfield defence. Riley McGree came closest late on when his effort struck the crossbar.
That defeat means that Chris Wilder’s side are without a win in four Championship games and sees them outside of the play-off spots with just four games left to play. Meanwhile, Huddersfield’s victory is their third in fourth games and the Terriers only have three games remaining – they host struggling Barnsley this Friday.
