Tottenham secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Burnley at Tottenham Hotspur stadium and turned up the pressure on Arsenal as they moved into the top four of the Premier League.
Antonio Conte's men controlled the game from the start and had great chances to open the score throughout the first-half but were left frustrated by an inspired Nick Pope.
Burnley's resistance was broken on the stroke of half-time, when a VAR and referee Kevin Friend awarded Spurs a penalty after Ashley Barnes was adjudged to have handballed in the box. Harry Kane made no mistake from 12 yards and gave the lead to Spurs.
In the second-half, the Clarets looked more dangerous and they were close to level the score when they hit the post via a long-range effort from Barnes.
Spurs came closest to a second in two occasions, but Pope brilliantly denied Son both times from close-range efforts.
Tottenham held their nerve until the end and secured an important three points in their quest for the Champions League.
Spurs are two points clear with Arsenal to play Newcastle on Monday, while Burnley remain out of the relegation zone on goal difference with Leeds United to play later on Sunday.
Next up, Spurs travel to already relegated Norwich on the final day of the season. Meanwhile, Burnley will have a game in hand to play away at Aston Villa on Thursday evening and will finish off the season at home against Newcastle.
"We'll wait and see what Arsenal do tomorrow. It's all to play for."
