Brentford have come from behind to beat nine-man Everton 3-2 at Goodison Park, with Toffees' Premier League survival hopes remain in the balance.
The Toffees entered the game knowing that win would confirm Premier League football next season and started the game with a great intensity looking for a goal.
They broke the deadlock inside the first 10 minutes, when Anthony Gordon delivered a cross which was met by Richarlison who flicked the ball on across David Raya and Dominic Calvert-Lewin got the faintest of touches to confirm Everton's opener.
However, Frank Lampard's men suffered a massive blow when Jarrad Branthwaite saw a red card for a last man foul on Ivan Toney.
The Bees pounced on the red card and levelled the game after Yoane Wissa's shot took a deflection off Seamus Coleman and flashed past Pickford into the net.
On the stroke of half-time, Richarlison restored the home advantage from the penalty spot to give his team a 2-1 lead.
Brentford dominated the second half and deservedly made it 2-2, when Wissa rose highest and flicked the ball up and over Pickford and into the far corner of the net from a Christian Eriksen corner.
Two minutes after the equaliser, the Bees took the lead for the first time when Rico Henry headed Christian Norgaard's delivery into the far corner.
The Toffees' hopes were compounded late on when substitute Salomon Rondon was sent off for a two-footed challenge on Henry.
The result leaves Everton two points ahead of Burnley in the relegation zone and one point ahead of Leeds, who have more game. The Merseysiders have two games to secure their Premier League status, starting with the visit of Crystal Palace to Goodison Park on Thursday evening.
