Salford City have announced that Gary Bowyer’s contract has been terminated by the club. The Ammies finished 10th in League Two last season, seven points off a play-off spot.
Bowyer took over at the club in March 2021 replacing Richie Wellens, who replaced Graham Alexander a year previously, giving the club owned by the 92 a surprising reputation for short managerial stints.
Assistant manager Billy Barr has also been let go by the Salford club.
In a statement, Salford City announced that “The club would like to thank Gary and Billy for their hard work over the last season, and we wish them all the best for their future roles within football.
An announcement regarding the role of First Team Manager will be made in due course.”
Salford City can confirm the departure of First Team Manager Gary Bowyer.
