Liverpool came from behind to beat Southampton 2-1 at St Mary's on Tuesday night, and take the Premier League title race to the final day.
Action: In a much-changed side, with only Alisson and Ibrahima Konaté retaining their places from Liverpool's FA Cup win last Saturday, the visitors struggled in the first minutes of the game.
In an inspired moment, Nathan Redmond gave the lead for the Saints inside the 15 minutes. The English forward with a superb individual effort, cutting in from the left wing and curling a shot, which took a slight deflection off James Milner ball past Allison.
Liverpool started to apply more pressure and managed to find an equaliser before the half-hour, when Takumi Minamino finished off an excellent team move with a rasping near-post shot into the roof of Alex McCarthy's net.
In the second-half, the game continued in the same pattern with both teams looking to create chances and score.
The Reds eventually took the lead midway through the second half, after Joel Matip looped a header into the far corner from a left-wing corner.
The Merseysiders managed to secure the spoils and take the three points back to Liverpool.
Big Picture: With this result, the Reds moved one point behind Manchester City in the race for the top-flight title with one game remaining.
Liverpool will now hope for a twist on Sunday in Premier League's season finale, as they host Wolves and will be hoping Aston Villa - managed by their club legend Steven Gerrard - prevent Man City to win in their visit to the Etihad Stadium.
Southampton remain in 15th in the table and will visit Leicester City in the final day.
