Aston Villa completed the signing of Boubacar Kamara on a five-year contract.
The 22-year-old will join Villa on a free transfer when his Marseille contract expires at the end of June.
The French midfielder played a huge role in this season’s Ligue 1 campaign for Marseille when they were runners-up helping them to qualify for the Champions League and in a successful run to the Europa League semi-finals.
After his superb season, Kamara won his first call-up to the France national team for Nations League matches against Denmark, Austria and Croatia next month.
Head Coach Steven Gerrard said: “I am delighted that we have been able to attract one of the most promising young talents in European football. We have a very clear plan to make our team stronger and Bouba is an important part of that.”
Kamara is the second player to join Villa this month after Philippe Coutinho made his loan from Barcelona permanent.
