Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of England goalkeeper Fraser Forster on a free transfer from Southampton.
Forster has become Tottenham’s second free transfer of the window after they confirmed the signing of Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan last week.
The former Celtic goalkeeper joins on a two-year deal and he is expected to replace Pierluigi Gollini as Hugo Lloris’ cover, as Gollini has returned to Atalanta following the end of his season-long loan.
Forster has been in and out of the Southampton side in recent years, under the management of Ralph Hasenhuttl. Alex McCarthy and Angus Gunn have both been ahead of Forster at times.
However, he did hit some excellent form during the 2021/22 campaign and was even recalled to the England squad during the March international break.
The 6ft 7inch Hexham-born 44 year-old has been capped six times for England and he has made 134 appearances in the Premier League.
