When Allan McGregor was given a one-minute in the 119th minute of the Scottish Cup final it looked like it would be the goalkeeper’s last game.
However, the 40-year-old shot-stopper isn’t done just yet. Rangers have announced that McGregor has agreed to extend his stint at the Glasgow club for a further season.
As well as making 469 appearances for Rangers, the goalkeeper has made appearances for Besiktas, Hull City, Cardiff City, and earned 42 caps for Scotland.
“I’m obviously delighted,” the veteran said about his new deal. “At the end of last season, there were a lot of games and a lot of concentration on the games.
“I then had a couple of weeks’ holiday and really thought about it and spoke to a lot of people about it, and everybody said to play as long as you can.
“After the break, that’s what I was thinking myself, so here we are.”
