England have the chance to win the U19 European Championship again when they face Israel in the final in Slovakia this evening. Remarkably, if England are victorious they will catch up to Spain’s record 11 tournament wins.
Ian Foster’s team successfully qualified from a group that included Austria, Serbia, and Israel by winning every game. England then got the better of Italy with a 2-1 win in the semi-final to reach the final where they will face Israel again after already defeating them 1-0 in the group stage.
England last won the tournament in 2017 after a 2-1 victory against Portugal in the final, but do you remember the players who were a part of that successful team?
Some have gone on to play senior international football (clue: not necessarily for England!) while others have had a less successful five years.
