Crystal Palace have finalised the transfer of Derby County’s high-rated teenager Malcolm Ebiowei.
The 18-year-old played 16 times for the Rams last season, scoring once and attracting the interest of Premier League sides with Manchester United rumoured to be chasing the player.
But it’s the Eagles who have captured the former Arsenal youth team player on a free transfer, with Palace only having to pay a compensation fee to troubled Derby County.
Although Palace and the player already agreed on terms it is only today, after Ebiowei’s contract with Derby expired, that he could be officially presented.
“I lived in Peckham for a little bit and then I moved to Bermondsey and I’ve been in Bermondsey ever since,” the winger told Palace TV.
“I think I’ll get along with the fans, it’s like my area. It’s being somewhere almost like home.”
