Michael Beale set to be named new Rangers boss

Rangers are set to announce Queens Park Rangers boss Michael Beale as the new manager to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Van Bronckhorst was sacked by Rangers last week after a poor run of results with the Light Blues currently nine points behind rivals Celtic in the Premiership.

The Glasgow side are strongly reported to have settled on Michael Beale to take charge of the club. Beale was part of Steven Gerrard’s coaching staff at the club before taking his first job as coach at Championship side Queens Park Rangers in June.

Beale was strongly linked with the Wolverhampton Wanderers job but the former Liverpool and São Paolo coach decided to stay at Loftus Road. So far at QPR, Beale has won nine, drawn five, and lost eight of his games so far with the club currently on a five-game streak without a victory and sitting seventh in the league – just outside the play-off spots.

If, as expected, Beale is to be named the new Rangers manager he is likely to oversee his first game on December 15th at home to Hibs.
