Burnley are closing in on the signing of Swedish defender Hjalmar Ekdal from Djurgården.
According to the Swedish outlet Expressen, Ekdal is on his way to England to complete his transfer to Turf Moor. The fee for the 24-year-old is reported to be worth around £2.5 million.
However, that fee is likely to increase based on performances with one condition being if Burnley are promoted to the Premier League this season – something that is hard not to imagine based on their form and the league table.
Ekdal is a Sweden international having earned his first senior cap back in June, he is also the younger brother of Albin Ekdal, who currently plies his trade with Spezia in Serie A.
