Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign right-back Malo Gusto and loan him back to Lyon for the rest of the season.
The transfer fee could reach €40 million (£35.1m), with €35m (£30.7) guaranteed and a further €5m (£4.4m) in potential bonuses.
The 19-year-old has signed a deal with the Blues until summer 2030 but will head back to France for the remainder of the current campaign to continue with Lyon in Ligue 1.
The highly-rated right-back has 54 senior appearances to his name and will provide backup and competition for Reece James.
This is Graham Potter's seventh signing of the window, following Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk, David Datro Fofana, Andrey Santos and Benoit Badiashile on permanent deals and Joao Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid.
‘I’m a fast player, a crosser and box-to-box.’
