Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has announced his retirement from international football.
The 29-year-old ends his time with France after a hugely successful period in which the player won the World cup with his country in 2018.
Varane made his debut for Les Bleus in 2013 in a World Cup qualifier against Georgia and went on to earn 93 caps for his country.
The centre-back’s last game for his country was the 2022 World Cup final when France lost to Argentina.
According to Le Parisien, Varane made his decision due to being ‘mentally and physically tired’ as well as a desire to spend more time with his family.
