Aston Villa have officially announced that Ashley Young will be leaving the club this summer as his contract comes to an end.
The 37-year-old player returned to Villa in 2021, initially signing a one-year deal that was later extended until the conclusion of the 2022/23 season.
Throughout this season, Young made a total of 32 appearances in various competitions, with 29 of them in the Premier League and scored one goal in the 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest in October.
In his two spells at Aston Villa, Young accumulated almost 250 appearances and his final game for the club was as a substitute in the second half of the 1-1 draw against Liverpool, which was Villa's last away match of the season.
With Young's departure, Aston Villa will now prioritize strengthening their right-back position, specifically to provide competition for Matty Cash.
Aston Villa can confirm that @Youngy18 will be leaving the club upon the expiration of his contract.
