AC Milan have officially announced that Rafael Leao has signed a contract renewal with the club.
Despite attracting interest from several Premier League clubs, Leao has committed his future to AC Milan by signing a new contract that will run until June 2028.
This extension comes as his previous contract was set to expire in June 2024.
Notably, the Portuguese player's release clause was previously valued at €150 million. However, it is now believed to have increased to €175 million, making him a less attainable target for most European clubs.
Since joining AC Milan in the summer of 2019, Leao has made a significant impact, accumulating 162 appearances, scoring 41 goals, and providing 29 assists across various competitions.
His remarkable performance during the 2021-22 season earned him the prestigious Serie A MVP title, coinciding with AC Milan's Scudetto victory after a ten-year gap.
