Celtic completed a record eight treble with a 3-1 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final.
The Championship side were always going to be the underdogs, especially against a rampant Celtic team that has already lifted the League Cup and Premiership.
But Inverness defended well early on, conceding plenty of possession to the Bhoys but keeping it tight at the back.
That defensive block was eventually broken in the 38th minute when Matt O’Riley had space on the right to put in a low cross for Kyogo Furuhashi to finish from close range.
The Japanese forward could have had another just a few minutes later but shanked his finish.
Celtic dominated much of the game and got their second after a quick free-kick in the centre of the pitch that caught Caley Thistle out. That extra space allowed the champions to find space with Callum McGregor putting it on a plate for Liel Abada.
The fans travelling down from the Highlands did get one goal to cheer. In the 84th minute, a brilliant cross from the right by Wallace Duffy found the head of Dan McKay who put the ball past Joe Hart in goal.
With the game in stoppage time, Celtic confirmed the win – and their 41st Scottish Cup – when Abada put a low ball across the face of goal that Jota was on hand at the far post to finish and cue the celebrations.
That goal confirmed an amazing fifth treble since the 2016/17 season and it could well be a high for Ange Postecoglou to go out on with the manager being linked with the Tottenham Hotspur job.
