Dani Olmo scored a hat-trick as RB Leipzig won the DFL-Supercup at the expense of Bayern Munich with Harry Kane making his debut.
The England captain’s transfer to the German giants was confirmed this morning in a Bundesliga-record move from Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite just joining the club Kane made it on the bench for Thomas Tuchel’s side as they took on RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena.
However, Bayern were far from their best in Munich with Dani Olmo the star of the show. The Spaniard opened the scoring in just the third minute of the game was Bayern failed to defend a freekick with Olmo able to stroke the ball into the corner.
While Olmo’s first goal was simple, his second was brilliant. The former Dinamo Zagreb player channelled his inner Yoann Gourcuff with a classy turn to bypass the Bayern defence before placing the ball past Sven Ulreich.
Kane made his debut in the 63rd minute as a replacement for Mathys Tel but just five minutes later Leipzig had their third. This one came from the spot after Noussair Mazraoui was penalised for a handball with Olmo making no mistake.
The former Spurs man found it difficult to make an impact on his debut but in truth, Bayern simply weren’t at it even before his arrival.
Although Kane may have missed out on silverware just hours after becoming a Bayern player it would be no surprise if he had some by the end of the season.
