Black Cats want to keep Bellingham

Sunderland are determined to keep hold of in-demand Jobe Bellingham despite interest from the Premier League and around Europe.

The England Under-19 midfielder, who was at Wembley to watch his brother Jude lift the Champions League last weekend, is reportedly being tracked by a trio of London clubs - Tottenham, Brentford and Crystal Palace all interested according to The Guardian.

Jude's former club Borussia Dortmund, losing finalists in Saturday's showpiece, are also understood to be monitoring Jobe's progress, although the Guardian report states that he is unlikely to follow in his brother's footsteps.

After leaving Birmingham to join Sunderland for an undisclosed fee last summer, Bellingham made 45 appearances in the Championship, scoring seven goals.

The Black Cats owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is reportedly keen to hang onto Bellingham, who he sees as essential to Sunderland's squad if they are to mount a promotion challenge next season.

Dreyfus is expected to slap a price tag of more than £20m on Bellingham, who has four years left on his current contract.

As a football fan, I think Sunderland should definitely hold onto Jobe Bellingham. He's a talented midfielder with a bright future ahead of him and it would be a shame to see him leave so soon. Plus, it's always exciting to see young players develop and make a name for themselves at their current club.
