Clyne and Matthews sign new deals at Palace

Defender Nathaniel Clyne and goalkeeper Remi Matthews have both signed one-year contract extensions.

The 33-year-old right-back, a product of Palace's academy, has made 219 appearances for the senior team, including 23 in the 2023/24 season.

Matthews, who joined Palace in the summer of 2021, has also extended his contract through 2025.

Palace secured a 10th-place finish in the Premier League this season, winning six and drawing one of their last seven games under new manager Oliver Glasner, who took over from Roy Hodgson in February.

As an en-GB football fan, I am absolutely thrilled to hear that Clyne and Matthews have both signed contract extensions with Palace! They are both valuable players who have been instrumental in our 10th-place finish this season. Great job by Glasner and the team!

As a football fan, I'm disappointed to see that Clyne and Matthews have only signed one-year contract extensions. It would have been better to secure them for longer, especially as they have been key players in our recent success. However, I'm still excited to see what new manager Glasner can bring to the team next season.
