Everton's midfielder Dele Alli has expressed his hopes for an incredible return from injury in the upcoming season, setting his sights on a spot in the England squad for the 2026 World Cup.

The talented England international shared his ambitions during his appearance on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, where he was covering Everton's heavy defeat against Chelsea.

Having been sidelined since February 2023 due to hip and groin injuries, the 28-year-old midfielder has endured a challenging period on the sidelines.

In an emotional interview last July, Alli opened up about his personal journey, delving into his childhood, battles with mental health issues, and the rehab process he underwent.

Now, Alli has unveiled his desire to represent England on the 2026 World Cup, set to be played across Canada, United States and Mexico.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Alli said: "I have a reminder on my phone every single day at 11 o'clock - World Cup 2026."

"People will be like 'he hasn't played in a year' but that's my aim. I know where my level is."
