Denzel Dumfries put in a stunning shift for Inter Milan in their thrilling 3-3 draw away at Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals.

The Dutchman set up the opener with a brilliant assist and then went on to bag two goals himself - his first ever brace in the Champions League.
That puts him in rare company. Since the Champions League era began, only three other Dutch players have scored twice in a semi-final: Philip Cocu for PSV against AC Milan in 2005, and Gini Wijnaldum in Liverpool’s famous 4-0 comeback against Barcelona in 2019.
On top of that, Dumfries became just the fifth Dutch player to both score and assist in a Champions League semi-final.
He joins an elite group that includes Marc Overmars and Ronald de Boer (both in Ajax’s 5-2 win over Bayern in 1995), Clarence Seedorf (for Milan vs Man United in 2007), and Wesley Sneijder (Inter vs Barcelona in 2010).
And here’s a fun little detail: every single one of those players went on to win the Champions League that same season. Just saying...
