      EFL round-up: Hatters thrash Dons

While the international break rolls on there were games in the third and fourth tiers, including a big one in League Two.

As always, we're here for a summary of the Saturday action.

      League One

There were just three League One games played today but there were some intriguing results. Perhaps the most significant – and the one that will have been cheered by Portsmouth fans – was Derby County's defeat away to Northampton Town.

Sam Hoskins scored the only goal of the game in the 23rd minute – his 15th of the season – with a fine finish that was enough for the Cobblers to secure all three points.

The Rams were also reduced to 10 men after a scrap in the area with Sonny Bradley receiving a straight red card. The defender's subsequent suspension should also keep him out of his side's upcoming trip to Fratton Park.

Elsewhere, bottom-of-the-league Carlisle United looked like they had recorded a much-needed win at home to Stevenage. However, after being 2-0 down, Boro fought back with Terence Vancooten equalising for the visitors deep into stoppage time.

Finally, Port Vale won on the road away to Burton Albion with Ryan Loft scoring the winner in the 83rd minute.

      League One final scores

      Burton Albion 0-1 Port Vale
      Carlisle United 2-2 Stevenage
      Northampton Town 1-0 Derby County

      League Two

Stockport County moved within two points of leader leaders Mansfield Town after an emphatic win over MK Dons.

Mansfield had been held to a 1-1 draw after a plucky performance from Colchester United and the Hatters took full advantage of it in Saturday's late game at Edgeley Park.

The visitors had started off well but Stockport took the lead with just over a half-hour gone. Goalkeeper Michael Kelly will have to take some of the blame for the goal which allowed Callum Camps to open the scoring.

Just five minutes later it was 2-0, this time Camps setting up Paddy Madden. The game was effectively over before the break when Isaac Olaofe drove into the box, went around Kelly and finished.

Stockport added two more in the second half to complete the route. It was four early in the second half when Connor Lemonheigh-Evans curled on in. Substitute Neill Byrne then made it 5-0 in stoppage time.

Elsewhere there were wins for Wrexham and Barrow while Crewe Alexandra were held to a draw by Wimbledon. Meanwhile at the bottom of the table, Sutton United earned an important 3-1 win at home to Accrington Stanley.

      League Two final scores

      Mansfield Town 1-1 Colchester United
      Harrogate Town 3-0 Bradford City
      Barrow 1-0 Newport County
      Crewe Alexandra 1-1 Wimbledon
Doncaster Rovers 2-0 Forest Green Rovers
      Grimsby Town 1-3 Wrexham
      Morecambe 2-3 Gillingham
      Notts County 1-2 Salford City
      Sutton United 3-1 Accrington Stanley
      Tranmere Rovers 1-3 Crawley Town
      Stockport County 5-0 MK Dons

However, a late own goal from defender Ian Harte meant they had to settle for just a point.

Great win for Northampton against Derby! Hoskins with another goal, he's been on fire this season Hopefully, Portsmouth can take advantage of Derby's defeat when they meet next.

As a football fan, I'm loving Northampton Town's win over Derby County! Great goal from Sam Hoskins and a red card for Sonny Bradley adds to the drama. And poor Carlisle United, can't seem to catch a break.

Great result for Northampton and a disappointing one for Derby. Hoskins' goal was a beauty and it's a shame that Bradley will miss the next game. Carlisle will be gutted to have let their lead slip, but at least they managed to get a point.

Wow, what a result for Northampton! Hoskins' goal was a stunner and Bradley's red card will be tough for Derby. Tough luck for Carlisle, but at least they got a

As a football fan, I'm buzzing to see Northampton take down Derby County in League One. Hoskins' goal was top class and Bradley's red card just adds to the excitement. Can't wait to see what happens next for both teams!

As a football fan reading this, I am thrilled to see Northampton Town defeat Derby County. It's always satisfying to see an underdog come out on top. Good job to Sam Hoskins for scoring the only goal of the game and to the Cobblers for securing all three points. Disappointing for Derby County to also have a player sent off, but that's just the nature of the game. Excited for their upcoming trip to Fratton Park. Also, props to Carl
