Jamal Lewis has made a surprise move to Brazilian side São Paulo on an initial loan.
The deal sees the Newcastle United defender join the Tricolor Paulista until June 2025, a move that São Paulo have the option to make permanent
Northern Ireland international Lewis initially made his professional debut for Norwich City having previously come through Luton Town's academy.
Lewis struggled to find gametime with the Magpies though, instead spending last season on loan with Watford, where he played 38 times for the Hornets.
São Paulo are currently sixth in Brazil's Série A with Lewis potentially being able to make his debut for his new side after the break they face Atlético Mineiro in the Copa do Brasil hoping to overturn a 1-0 first leg defeat.
