Exciting forward fuels transfer speculation

Liverpool and Newcastle target hints at move

Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo has spoken of his desire to play "in the biggest competitions" with reports in the French media suggesting the Cameroon international could be destined to leave the Bees this summer.

The 24-year-old missed a large chunk of the season with an ankle injury sustained in action for the Bees against Brighton last December, but he returned in the latter part of the season to help the Londoners secure their Premier League status.

With nine goals and six assists in 25 top flight games last season, Mbeumo ended the campaign as Brentford's most productive player and he is now being linked with a potential big money move with Liverpool and Newcastle reportedly interested.

The speculation regarding Mbeumo's future has been fuelled by an interview he gave to French publication L'Equipe, in which he outlined his ambition to compete at the highest level and spoke of the "tantalising" interest in him.

“I have spent five years at Brentford, at a club that has allowed me to grow and pass a milestone but yes, I would like to play in the biggest competitions, at the best clubs. It is tantalising to see some big clubs interested in me. We will see,” said Mbeumo.

Wow, this is some exciting news! As a football fan, I would love to see Mbeumo playing in the biggest competitions. He definitely deserves it after such a strong season with Brentford. But it's also sad to think about him leaving the Bees. Either way, I wish him all the best and can't wait to see him shining on the big stage.

Wow, this is a real disappointment. Mbeumo has been vital to Brentford's success and it's sad to see him potentially leaving. He's such a talented player and it's no surprise that big clubs like Liverpool and Newcastle are interested in him. But as a Brentford fan, I really hope he stays and helps us in the Premier League next season.
