Left-back has been problem position for Red Devils

      Man Utd monitoring Hungary defender

      2024/06/06 10:42

Manchester United are reportedly on the lookout for cover at left-back - with Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez emerging as a potential transfer target this summer.

The Red Devils struggled with injuries last season and the left-sided defender slot became an issue with injuries significantly curtailing the involvement of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

England defender Shaw managed only 15 appearances in all competitions, while young Dutchman Malacia hasn’t featured since May 2023.

A rotating cast of players, including Diogo Dalot, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Sofyan Amrabat all filled in during the past campaign, but United are looking to bolster their options in that area of the pitch this summer.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has reported that Bournemouth's Kerkez is one of the names on the Red Devils' wanted list - the Hungary international presently being "monitored" by United's recruitment team.

Kerkez is set to strut his stuff for the Magyars at Euro 2024 in Germany - Hungary pooled in Group A alongside the hosts, Scotland and Switzerland.

As a football fan, I am content with Manchester United's decision to seek cover at left-back. Injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia have been a major issue and it's important for the team to have reliable options in that position. Milos Kerkez could be a good addition to the squad and I trust the club's recruitment team to make the right decision.

Wow, this is exciting news for Manchester United! It's always good to have strong backup options in case of injuries. Kerkez seems like a promising player and I trust United's recruitment team to make the right decision. Let's hope we see him in a United shirt soon!

As a football fan, I'm not too familiar with Kerkez but if he's being monitored by United's recruitment team, he must have some potential. Having cover at left-back is crucial for a successful season and I trust that the club will make the right decision in terms of transfers. Excited to see how this plays out!

As a football fan, I'm feeling disillusioned with Manchester United's transfer targets. It seems like they're just going for mediocre options instead of investing in top-quality players. This move for Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth is just another example of that.
