New Arsenal signing Mikel Merino is expected to miss up to two months after picking up an injury in his first training session.
The midfielder joined the club from Real Sociedad in a deal worth an initial £27.4 million but Gunners fans will have to wait a while longer before seeing their new signing in action.
According to journalist Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail, Merino suffered a fractured shoulder in his very first training session at the new club after a collision with defender Gabriel Magalhães.
Manager Mikel Arteta is likely to be able to give Merino a delayed debut towards the end of October, with Arsenal playing Bournemouth (A), Shakhtar Donetsk (H), and Liverpool (H) during that period.
