PREVIEW | Hull City vs Preston North End - team news, lineups, predictions

Hull City and Preston North End go head-to-head at MKM Stadium this Monday in the EFL Championship.

The Tigers have 45 points to their name this season and are flirting with the relegation places in 20th position in the table. Last time out, Ruben Selles' team slipped to a 1-0 defeat against Swansea City.

Preston North End, meanwhile, currently lie in 17th position. Paul Heckingbottom's team slipped to a 1-2 defeat against QPR in their previous fixture.

The last meeting between the two teams ended with the Lilywhites winning 1-0.

      The Fan Zone

Joe Collins (Old Grandpa Joe - Joe Collins): So, it’s even tighter down there now!

Since the season resumed post-international break, we have been diabolical. Without Charlie Hughes’ superb header at Hillsborough, we would deservedly be in the bottom three.

We have set up simply not to lose; play for a 0-0. But when you concede in the first five minutes of the second half in almost every game since the international break, then caution has to be thrown to the wind.

Rubén Sellés has got his team selections wrong too. Abu Kamara, although not brilliant, is our best attacking outlet of late, we get nothing from Joe Gelhardt out wide and João Pedro has failed to impact any game in which he has featured since he returned from suspension.

We tend to be poor at home, so I’m not expecting miracles. We also tend to crumble when the pressure is on, and have done historically when the stakes are high.

We are usually decent against Preston who, at this stage, have nothing to play for.

Ultimately, this mess of a season is built in the imagine of one man – Acun Ilicali, our owner – so he has to take the lion’s share of blame. His sacking of Liam Rosenior was mindless and foolish, and for that we are paying the price.

      Prediction: 1-1

Martin Ryan (PNEFCStats): Just one win in the last 12 for Preston as they head to Hull for the penultimate away day of the season.

It is also Gentry Day, a day where Preston supporters remember those no longer with us. Look out for the suits and bowler hats.

Away form has been poor with just three away wins all season, but a win here would certainly improve the mood of the supporters after conceding two late goals vs QPR on Good Friday.

Ali McCann, Brad Potts, Jack Whatmough, Freddie Woodman and Ryan Ledson will once again all miss out though injury.

      Prediction: 1-1
