Manchester City have confirmed that Scott Carson will leave the club following the expiry of his contract.
The 39-year-old goalkeeper departs after six seasons at the Etihad, with the club opting not to offer him a new deal.
Carson originally joined City on loan from Derby County before making the move permanent. Despite his long spell at the club, he featured only twice, but remained a valued presence in the dressing room throughout.
His debut came in a Premier League win over Newcastle, while his second appearance arrived during the closing stages of a Champions League round of 16 second leg against Sporting, which ended in a draw.
Capped four times by England, Carson is now a free agent and available to join a new club during the current transfer window.
