Steve Bruce was named as Blackpool's new manager yesterday - and the stats suggest the former Newcastle United and Birmingham City manager has inherited a team who know where the back of the net is.
Bruce succeeds the sacked Neil Critchley in the dugout at Bloomfield Road and he will have been encouraged by the Tangerines' 4-1 success over Crewe in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy last night.
In their final game under interim coach Richard Keogh, the Seasiders took the lead early on through Jordan Rhodes' first goal of the 2024/25 campaign and they roared into a 4-0 lead after further goals from CJ Hamilton (2) and Sonny Carey.
Omar Bogle pulled one back for the Railwaymen, but the game was over as a contest and, encouragingly for new boss Bruce, Blackpool have now scored more goals than ANY team in 'The 92' across all competitions this season.
