Two goals in as many minutes gave Wolverhampton Wanderers the win away to Blackburn Rovers to seal their spot in the next round of the FA Cup.
The Premier League side were always heavy favourites going into this game, especially considering Blackburn's poor form in recent weeks.
But Vítor Pereira's side didn't always have it their own way and Rovers could have taken the lead when John Buckley's ball was headed in by Dominic Hyam. The assistant's flag went up though with the goal ruled out for offside with no VAR able to intervene.
No VAR was needed for when the lively Augustus Kargbo went down in the box looking for a penalty with the referee rightly brandishing a yellow card for the forward's simulation.
While Blackburn had their moments, Wolves quality eventually shone through and the game was effectively won over two minutes.
João Gomes got the first one when the home side were caught out in possession and a quick transition later the ball squirmed under Balázs Tóth and into the net – the goalkeeper will feel he could have done better with the effort.
The second goal came soon after, this time with a long ball out from defence to Matheus Cunha who gave the ball to Nélson Semedo before taking it back and finishing off another rapid move.
From that point on, Wolves afternoon in Lancashire was far more relaxed with Rovers simply not having the quality to get back into the game despite putting in a respectable performance.
