Another defensive target for the Red Devils

United agree deal for Madrid target Leny Yoro

According to several reports on Tuesday, including Fabrizio Romano and Sky Sports, Manchester United have agreed a fee with Lille over the signing of 18-year-old centre-back Leny Yoro.

It is understood that the fee that would take Yoro to Old Trafford is in the region of £45 million but there remains strong competition from 15-time European champions Real Madrid.

Yoro has already become a long-term transfer target for Los Blancos and Florentino Perez is said to be ‘relaxed’ about the situation with Madrid happy to get a deal done this summer on their own terms of wait a year to sign him as a free agent.

It is also believed that Yoro’s preference would be to move to the Bernabeu, rather than to the Premier League, so even though an agreement between the clubs is in place, Yoro’s move to Old Trafford would seem some way off for now.

In the meantime, in what is the first transfer window of the INEOS era, Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Matthijs de Ligt with both Bayern Munich and the player open to the move.

United reportedly want to sign two centre-backs this summer and had a third bid for Everton and England defender Jarrad Branthwaite rejected yesterday. That bid was believed to be in the region of £45 million with the Toffees holding out for at least £60 million.

Aside from defensive incomings, the Red Devils are reportedly set to trigger Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee’s release clause of £33.8 million and have opened negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over the signing of Uruguay international midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

Disappointment tone: Wow, what a letdown. After all the speculation and excitement, it looks like Yoro might not even end up at Manchester United. And to top it off, he would prefer Real Madrid over the Premier League. Fingers crossed something changes and he still comes to Old Trafford, but for now this news is just disappointing.

As a football fan, I'm excited about the potential signing of Leny Yoro for Manchester United! The competition from Real Madrid adds to the excitement but I hope he chooses the Premier League over La Liga.

As a football fan, I'm excited to hear about Manchester United's potential signing of 18-year-old centre-back Leny Yoro. However, with competition from Real Madrid and Yoro's preference for the Bernabeu, it seems like this deal is far from being finalized. I hope United can secure the transfer, but it's important to respect Yoro's wishes.
