Peterborough hero hit double in EFL Trophy win

Wembley hero Burrows part of exclusive group

Peterborough United's Wembley matchwinner Harrison Burrows has plenty to celebrate after firing Posh to victory in the EFL Trophy final yesterday - and his fantastic statistics this term are further cause to give the defender a pat on the back.

The left-back scored two late goals for Darren Ferguson's Peterborough as they beat Wycombe in a dramatic final yesterday - Burrows' 85th minute opener was cancelled out by an equaliser from the Chairboys' Dale Taylor, but the 22-year-old Posh academy product then notched in added time to clinch a famous victory at the death.

With 14 assists already to his name across all competitions this season, Burrows has been a prolific supplier of goals this term - but his excellent delivery has almost been matched by his keen eye for goal. After his brace against Wycombe, Burrows now has 11 goals to his name, which means he has reached double figures for both goals AND assists in 2023/24.

Players to record a 'Double double' this season are few and far between - with only 15 players across 'The 92' managing the feat in all domestic competitions this season. For the full list, check out the Playmaker graphic below (and give us a follow on Twitter if you haven't already!).
