Brentford moved closer to securing their Premier League status for next season with an impressive 5-1 victory over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on Saturday.

Despite Luton enjoying early possession, it was Brentford who posed the greater threat, and they managed the lead midway through the first half.

Yoane Wissa capitalised on Bryan Mbeumo's pass to curl in a stunning opener from the edge of the box.

Wissa doubled his tally just before half-time, pouncing on a loose ball following Luton's failure to clear Mbeumo's cross.

Ethan Pinnock, back in the starting line-up, extended Brentford's lead in the 62nd minute with a header from a Sergio Reguilon corner.

Two minutes later, Keane Lewis-Potter found space at the far post to head in Mbeumo's delivery to make it four.

The Bees added a fifth in the 85th minute when Mbeumo set up Vitaly Janelt, who then assisted Kevin Schade for a simple finish.

Rob Edwards' men managed to pull one back in stoppage time through Luke Berry, capitalising on a bad pass from Janelt before rounding the keeper and slotting into an empty net.

With this result, Brentford looks in good position to remain in the Premier League for a fourth consecutive season, sitting comfortably 10 points clear of the relegation zone, while Luton finds themselves in 18th place, just one point from safety.

As a Brentford fan, I am absolutely ecstatic with this result! We played with such energy and determination, scoring 5 fantastic goals. Wissa was outstanding with his brace and Mbeumo's passing was on point. And how about that header from Pinnock! It's performances like this that make me believe we belong in the Premier League.
