Barcelona overcome Athletic

Barcelona edged out Athletic in a win on Wednesday, 3x1, in a match relating to the Last 16 of the Copa del Rey. In the first leg both teams draw, 1x1.

The first goal of the game was scored by Luis Suárez, with a right-foot strike, in the 35th minute.

Barcelona scored their second goal of the game through Neymar, after the break, from the penalty spot. With 51 minutes on the clock, Enric Saborit fired home for Athletic, through a header inside the penalty box, with Gorka Elustondo making the assist. After 78 minutes, Lionel Messi netted the final goal of the game, from a direct free kick.

With this result, Barcelona are into the next round of the competition. In the next fixture, Luis Enrique's team will play away against Real Sociedad.
