Motherwell defeated by St. Johnstone

St. Johnstone defeated Motherwell in a close win on Wednesday, 2x1, in the match for the 26th round. In this competition, Perth's team came from a win, and Motherwell's team came from two defeats. In the starting XI there was Drey Wright, Mark Gillespie, Peter Hartley, Liam Grimshaw, Rolando Aarons, Chris Long and Jermaine Hylton. Elliot Parish, Scott Tanser and Isaiah Jones didn't leave the bench.

The opening goal was scored by Callum Hendry in the 27th minute. With this goal, Callum Hendry reached the landmark of five goals this season. After 31 minutes, Chris Long struck for Motherwell.

With 52 minutes on the clock, Matt Butcher came on. After 64 minutes, Chris Long was subbed. In the 69th minute, Jermaine Hylton ended it up being subbed. Sub Chris Kane, after 75 minutes, changed the course of the game. After seeing his second yellow card with 82 minutes on the clock, Christy Manzinga was sent off and left Motherwell's team with 10-man. In the 84th minute, Rolando Aarons was subbed.  Chris Kane netted the last goal in stoppage time.

After the result Motherwell is 4th in the table, 41 points, while St. Johnstone occupy 8th place, 30 points. In relation to forthcoming league matches, Perth's team visit Ross County. Meanwhile, Motherwell's team will play away against Hamilton.
