River Plate beat Palmeiras, 0x2, on Wednesday, in a match relating to the semi-finals of Libertadores. Abel Ferreira's team beat Marcelo Gallardo's team, 3x0, in the first leg of the tie.

In the 29th minute, Robert Rojas opened the score for River Plate, from a corner, laid on by Nicolas de la Cruz. Santos Borré netted the last goal after 44 minutes through a header inside the penalty box. It was his 25th goal of the season.

In the 73rd minute, Marcelo Gallardo's team saw Robert Rojas get sent off due to accumulation of yellows.
