Oxford United thrash Shrewsbury Town

Oxford United defeated Shrewsbury Town, 4x1, on Tuesday, in the match for the 23rd round. Before this Matchday, Oxford's team came from a win, and Shrewsbury's team came from a draw.

 Rob Atkinson opened the score with 13 minutes on the clock, from a corner. With 36 minutes on the clock, Elliott Lee fired home Oxford United's second goal, with a right-foot strike, laid on by Matty Taylor.

In the 51st minute, Harry Chapman struck for Shrewsbury Town, with a right-foot shot inside the box. After 66 minutes, Matty Taylor struck for Oxford's team, with a right-foot strike inside the penalty area, assisted by James Henry.  Sam Long netted the last goal with 77 minutes on the clock.

After the result Oxford United is 6th in the table, 37 points, while Shrewsbury Town occupy 17th place, 27 points. With regard to the next fixture, Karl Robinson's team will play at home against Gillingham, while Aaron Wilbraham's team will host Doncaster Rovers.
