Motherwell defeated by Rangers

Rangers defeated Motherwell in a win on Sunday, 1x3, in the 1st round. Before this Matchday, Motherwell's team came from a draw, and Glasgow's team came from a win.

The luckless Liam Kelly scored an own goal after 14 minutes. In the 28th minute, Rangers saw Leon Balogun get a straight red card after 31 minutes, Calvin Bassey came on. With 35 minutes on the clock, Ross Tierney struck for Motherwell, assisted by Jake Carroll.

After the break, Scott Wright fired home Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team's second goal, laid on by Fashion Sakala. After 62 minutes, James Tavernier netted the final goal of the game, from the penalty spot. In the 68th minute, Sean Goss came on. After 72 minutes, Justin Amaluzor came on.
