On loan Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos could stay in France for a full season after impressing during his brief time with Strasbourg.

The Brazilian began the 2023/24 with a disappointing loan spell at Nottingham Forest before moving to the Ligue 1 side at the end of the January transfer window.

Due to international duty, Andrey Santos had to wait until mid-February for his Strasburg debut and until just before the international break to make his first start.

The teenager's performance against Nantes in a 3-1 win for Patrick Vieira's side was impressive with French outlet L'Equipe now suggesting that the player is likely to remain in France for the 2024/25 season to continue his development.

Santos originally joined Chelsea from Vasco in January 2023 for a fee believed to be £13 million.

Great to see Andrey Santos finding his feet at Strasbourg! He had a tough start at Nottingham Forest but has really shown his potential in France. Hopefully he stays for another season and continues to develop into a top player for Chelsea.

Great to see Andrey Santos thriving at Strasbourg! As a Chelsea fan, it's always exciting to see our young players performing well on loan. Disappointed that he didn't have a good start at Nottingham Forest, but glad he found his footing in France. Looking forward to seeing him continue to develop and potentially stay there for another season.
