Sutton United celebrate narrow win over Colchester

Sutton United beat Colchester in a close win on Tuesday, 3x2, in a game related to matchweek 24 of League Two. Coming into the contest, Sutton's team came from a draw, and Colchester's team came from four defeats. Isaac Olaofe runned the show.

After 3 minutes, Owura Edwards opened the scoring for Colchester, with a right-foot strike from outside the penalty box, with Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu making the assist. In the 9th minute, Isaac Olaofe fired home for Sutton United, with a right-foot strike. Hayden Mullins's team scored their second goal of the game through Freddie Sears, with 44 minutes on the clock, from the penalty spot.

In the 64th minute, Isaac Olaofe fired home Matt Gray's team second goal, through a header inside the penalty box, after an assist provided by Richie Bennett. Will Randall netted the last goal deep into added time with a right-foot shot from outside the box.

After the result Sutton United are 5th in the table, with 39 points, while Colchester sit 21st place, with 23 points. With regard to the next fixture, Matt Gray's team will host Northampton Town, whilst Hayden Mullins's team visit Salford City.
