Everton defeat Southampton

Everton edged out Southampton in a close win on Saturday, 1x2, on matchday 9. In this competition, Ralph Hasenhüttl's team came from two defeats, and Frank Lampard's team came from a win.

The first-half ended with a goalless draw.

The first goal of the game was scored by Joe Aribo, with a left-foot strike, after the break. With 52 minutes on the clock, Conor Coady fired home for Everton, laid on by Amadou Onana. Dwight McNeil scored the winning goal in the 54th minute with a left-foot shot inside the penalty box.

After the result Everton are 11th in the table, with 10 points, while Southampton sit 16th place, with 7 points. With regard to the next fixture, Liverpool's team will host Manchester United, whilst Southampton's team will play away against Manchester City.
