After helping Bury to promotion from League Two last season, Danny Mayor is proving equally inspirational for Plymouth Argyle in the fourth tier in 2019/20.
Playmaker takes a closer look at a player who has completed more successful dribbles than any top four tier player this season.
Despite the heartbreak of leaving Bury and watching his old club's ignominious exit from the EFL, Mayor has been in fine fettle since reuniting with former Bury boss Ryan Lowe at Home Park.
Let's quickly start by recapping those dribbling stats. It should be borne in mind that Crystal Palace's Wilfred Zaha only trails Mayor by four successful dribbles this season, despite playing five games, but nevertheless Mayor's ability to navigate effectively with the ball is mightily impressive.
His nearest rival in terms of the EFL is Colchester's Courtney Senior who lags behind with 33 completed dribbles compared to Mayor's 42.
What's more, Mayor has shown that he has the quality to pick a pass, the attacking midfielder averaging 2.4 key passes per game (the most of any Plymouth player this season).
Although he doesn't make a high number of passes per game (39.2), Mayor has found his man with 81% of them and has two league assists to his name this term, in addition to his single League One goal for the Pilgrims.
Although he has yet to add the kind of end product he showed in Bury's promotion season (where he scored 8 league goals and supplied 11 assists), Mayor stats this term show he is an undoubted force at League Two level.
Now 28, the League Two Player of the Month nominee for September has previous Championship experience with Preston North End and Sheffield Wednesday - and his stats suggest he retains the potential to shine at a higher level.
Danny Mayor has been shortlisted for the PFA @BristolStMotors League Two Player of the Month Award.
