Sought after former Colchester boss, John McGreal, has returned to management after a year away from the game, taking over at recently relegated Swindon Town ahead of the 2021/22 League Two season.
McGreal, who took Colchester into the play-offs in 2019/20 saw his reputation only increase following his departure, with the club spending this season fighting off a shock relegation to the National League.
The 48-year-old who spent his first four years in management at Colchester, has revealed his excitement at his second ever appointment.
"I'm absolutely delighted. It's a club I look upon in League Two as a League One club," McGreal said. "It's Swindon Town. That alone makes you want to apply for the job.”
"I'm sure there were numerous applicants and I'm happy to get my hands on it,” McGreal added.
"There's a lot of work to be done, a lot of players we need to bring in and I'm looking forward to that challenge. Our aim this season is to try and get the club back to where it should be."
