Swansea City have announced that they have signed right-back Cyrus Christie on loan from Fulham until the end of the season.
Christie leaves automatic promotion challengers Fulham, having struggled to break into Marco Silva’s rampant Cottagers, after his loan spell at Nottingham Forest during the 2020/21 campaign.
It is believed that Swansea managed to pip their fierce South Wales rivals Cardiff City to the Irish international’s signature.
The Welsh club, under the management of Russell Martin, have now made two additions in the January transfer window, following the reportedly £400,000 capture of Milton Keynes Dons goalkeeper Andy Fisher earlier this week.
Martin’s Swansea have been the most dominant side in possession across all of England’s 72 EFL clubs this season but they have been let down by being quite ineffective – much like his spell at MK Dons.
He will hope these tweaks to his starting line-up, brought about by the January business, will transform The Swans into a more precise and incisive team.
