Manchester City won the title with one of the most incredible comeback in Premier League history, after being 2-0 down inside the last 15 minutes against Aston Villa to win 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium.
Action: Manchester City only needed a win to be crowned Premier League champions, but they were shocked when Matty Cash stunned the Etihad to put Villa ahead in the 37th minute, nodding in a tremendous cross from Lucas Digne.
The afternoon became even more tense, knowing that Liverpool was drawing with Wolves at the time and City was struggling to create any clear chances in the first hour in the game.
Things got pretty bad in Manchester, when Villa doubled their lead in the 69th minute after superb work from former Liverpool player Phillipe Coutinho, as the Brazilian latched onto a Ollie Watkins flick-on and buried his low driven strike into the bottom corner past Ederson.
At this point, one goal from Liverpool would leave the Merseysiders in pole position to win the Premier League.
City woke up and substitutes Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan combined to pull one goal back with the English forward with the German international heading home Sterling's inviting delivery.
Two minutes later, City levelled through Rodri as he coolly placed his shot from the edge of the box into the bottom corner to spark wild scenes at the Etihad.
The hostscompleted a dramatic comeback in the 81st minute when Gundogan tapped in an excellently crafted pass from Kevin De Bruyne at the back post, sending the City supporters into raptures.
In the end, it proved that Pep Guardiola's men needed the three points after Liverpool's 3-1 win against Wolves, which saw Manchester City be crowned Premier League champions.
Big Picture: Man City love a dramatic final day... in one of the most spetacular Premier League title races, Man City were crowned champions. It's their fourth in the last five seasons.
Pep Guardiola's men dominated the league in the last couple of seasons and it looks like they won't stop anytime soon. Most of their squad members are on long-term contracts plus with the addition of players like Erling Haaland, City have everything to keep being the main force in England.
Man of the Match: Ilkay Gundogan. In a week where, there were reports suggesting that the German was looking for a move away from the Etihad, today he proved he is very valuable member of that squad.
He gave the calmness and stability that the team needed at a very nervy period and the two goals he scored will be always remembered by City fans. Today, he probably confirmed his Man City legend status.
xG: Man City (3.61) 3-2 (0.25) Aston Villa
Stat of the Day: Since his first season in charge of a top-flight club in 2008-09, Pep Guardiola has won more top-flight titles across the big-five leagues in Europe (Premier League, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Serie A, LaLiga) than any other manager (10).
