Manchester United are edging closer to their first signing of the Erik ten Hag era but it’s not Frenkie de Jong or Christian Eriksen.
The Red Devils have agreed a fee with Feyenoord for the transfer of left-back Tyrell Malacia as was confirmed by the Dutch club’s technical director, Frank Arnesen: “The agreement with Man United is there. We are now waiting for Tyrell.
“If Malacia says yes, then a transfer to Manchester United is imminent”.
The 22-year-old looked set to complete a move to Olympique Lyonnais but United have stepped in late to agree a €15+€2 million (£13m+£2m) fee with the Eredivisie club.
Ten Hag is thought to be a keen admirer of Malacia, who played 50 times for his side last season and earned five caps for his country. All that remains now is for Manchester United to agree to terms with the player.
