Action: Antonio Conte returned to the touchline following gallbladder surgery as Spurs were trying to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg in Italy.
It was a slow start from both teams, with the visitors feeling pretty confortable with the lack of ideas from Spurs as neither side managed even a shot on target in the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, Milan went close to breaking the deadlock when Brahim Diaz found his way into the box and got a shot, but he was too close to Fraser Forster and his effort was denied.
Spurs first real chance only came in the 64th minute when Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg fired in an effort which Mike Maignan had to tip over the bar and out for a corner.
With 15 minutes to play, the hosts suffered a huge blow as Christian Romero receive a second yellow card and was sent off after a reckless tackle on Theo Hernandez.
Spurs fans' showed their frustration shortly after as Conte was booed for replacing Dejan Kulusevski with defender Davinson Sanchez as time ran out.
In stoppage time, Harry Kane forced Maignan to a great save before before Divock Origi went down the other end and hit the post.
Big Picture: It was the third game in a row without scoreing for Spurs, losing two, in which saw them crash out of the FA Cup and Champions League.
Tottenham now only have the Premier League to focus on, and the race for the top four.
